Eyeshadow Cateye Tutorial

I’ve been super into doing cateye looks with just eye shadows lately. It’s a lot more forgiving than using a liquid liner and it’s a little more subtle. Overall I love the look of an eyeshadow cateye; here’s how I do it.

I have been using 4 shades from the Kylie Cosmetics holiday kyshadow palette.

Shade 1: sugar cookie, Shade 2: gingerbread, Shade 3: nutcracker, Shade 4: silent night

I put shade 1 under my brow bone as a highlight with a mac 239 shadow brush, then I put shade 2 all over my lid with the same brush.  I put shade 3 in my crease with a sigma E40 blending brush and add shade 4 to the corner of my eye in a staight line up (like you would with eyeliner) with a sigma E70 angled brush and blend it inwardfullsizerender-9

At the end I blend it all with the same sigma blending brush and add a coat of mascara, I hope you enjoyed.

Cleaning My Makeup Brushes

Today I decided it was time to clean my brushes, I know your supposed to clean them every two weeks, but it’s more of a monthly thing for me.  I going to share my tools and techniques for cleaning makeup brushes. I have a Sigma brush cleaning mat that I use with Beauty Blender solid cleanser to clean all my brushes and sponges.  I lather my brushes in the solid cleanser then wash them with the mat.  I love this mat because its divided up into sections to clean and rinse face brushes and eye brushes.  Once the water runs clean I squeeze the excess water out of my brushes and lay them on a towel to dry.  This process cleans my brushes and also leaves them feeling soft and almost new.
