I just got my Ipsy bag for this month so I decided to do a little review. The first thing I got was a first aid beauty face moisturizer which I’m really excited to try because I have crazy dry skin. Then I got OUAI hair mask which I actually got in my sephora play box last month, but I haven’t used it yet even though I probably need too because my hair is bleached. Then I got a Pur cosmetics concealer in medium, but its a little too dark for my skin so I’m not sure how much use I’ll get out of it. I got a Tarte lip paint in delish, I love this formula because it drys really quickly and doesn’t move around at all. And the most exciting thing for me is the INT cosmetics eyeshadow in goddess gold, it is so pretty. It is a coppery shimmer shadow and I can’t wait to try it out.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara Review
Before I get into the review I’m gonna tell you a little story. A couple of days ago I left my house in the morning after doing my makeup to go to the Sharks game with my sister. I couldn’t help but feel like something was missing, but I shook it off and we left. We went to eat and I decided to use the bathroom before the game. While I was waiting for someone to open the door (because it had a handle and there were no paper towels to open it with) I finally realized what was missing, I forgot to put on mascara! Luckily there was a Sephora next to the restaurant so we zipped in and I picked up a mini of urban decay’s perversion mascara for just $10.
Review: I’ve been wanting to try this mascara, but I get so many mascara samples from beauty boxes and free samples that I’ve never had any need until this moment. I really like it, it curls, lengthens, and defines my lashes all in one step. Over all a really nice and sleek product and the size and shape of the packaging is perfect for when you’re on the go. I’ll be keeping this in my purse just in case I forget it again (which probably won’t happen, but you never know).

Eyeshadow Cateye Tutorial
I’ve been super into doing cateye looks with just eye shadows lately. It’s a lot more forgiving than using a liquid liner and it’s a little more subtle. Overall I love the look of an eyeshadow cateye; here’s how I do it.

I have been using 4 shades from the Kylie Cosmetics holiday kyshadow palette.
Shade 1: sugar cookie, Shade 2: gingerbread, Shade 3: nutcracker, Shade 4: silent night
I put shade 1 under my brow bone as a highlight with a mac 239 shadow brush, then I put shade 2 all over my lid with the same brush. I put shade 3 in my crease with a sigma E40 blending brush and add shade 4 to the corner of my eye in a staight line up (like you would with eyeliner) with a sigma E70 angled brush and blend it inward
At the end I blend it all with the same sigma blending brush and add a coat of mascara, I hope you enjoyed.
Cleaning My Makeup Brushes
Today I decided it was time to clean my brushes, I know your supposed to clean them every two weeks, but it’s more of a monthly thing for me. I going to share my tools and techniques for cleaning makeup brushes. I have a Sigma brush cleaning mat that I use with Beauty Blender solid cleanser to clean all my brushes and sponges. I lather my brushes in the solid cleanser then wash them with the mat. I love this mat because its divided up into sections to clean and rinse face brushes and eye brushes. Once the water runs clean I squeeze the excess water out of my brushes and lay them on a towel to dry. This process cleans my brushes and also leaves them feeling soft and almost new.
Colour Pop Eyeshadow Review
On Thanksgiving I did a post where I mentioned Colour Pop’s collab with No Kill Los Angeles , they have two eyeshadows in the shades Cat Nap and Puppy Love available here. I ordered both and they are so pretty.
Cat Nap is on the left, Puppy Love is on the right.
The two shades are gorgeous, they have great pigmentation and look so nice together. Cat Nap is a super shimmery pink-gold color and Puppy Love is a less shimmery lighter pink. The best part is definitely that all proceeds go to NKLA, check out their website to see other ways you can help and visit Colour Pop to grab these beautiful eyeshadows.
Lipstick Review: Buxom Wildly Whipped Lightweight Liquid Lipstick in Instigator
In my last post I gave my first impressions on the 500 point buxom set from Sephora. So far I’ve been loving it, the lipstick shade looks so good on my skin tone. On top of that it feels very light and doesn’t dry my lips out at all. It’s not as long-lasting as some of the other liquid lipsticks I own, but it doesn’t flake like some do. Overall I think It’s a great product and I plan to try some new shades in the near future.
October Favorites
Hey guys, I know the first week of November is almost over, but I really wanted to do a favorites post so here it is.
The first thing I’ve been loving is a Bath and Body Works candle called pumpkin pie. It smells like everything fall and it’s amazing. Sadly I’m almost out, but I’ve really enjoyed it and the holder I bought for it is so cute.
I bought some MAC pigments in copper sparkle (left) and old gold (right). They’re both so pretty and versatile and I’m definitely considering expanding my little collection.
I’ve also been using the Benefit goof proof brow pencil in shade 4 every single day. Just like the name says it’s nearly impossible to mess up, It’s easy to blend and remove if you get it in the wrong spot.
And finally I have recently discovered the best makeup remover I’ve ever know: Garnier’s micellar water. It takes off every kind of make up so easily and the big bottle will definitely last me a while.
That’s it for this months favorites, check out my instagram and twitter for more content.
Sephora Haul
I recently went to Sephora and, as always, bought way more makeup than I meant to. Oops. On the bright side I love everything I got and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I’ve been wanting to try Urban Decay’s all nighter foundation for a while, I just never got around to it until now. I really like the coverage it gives, and you can cover your face with only one pump of product. I also love the packaging even though that’s not really relevent to the foundation itself, I think it looks cool on my vanity. Overall I’m very impressed with this product and it definitely lives up to the hype.
I picked up Kat Von D’s everlasting liquid lipstick in Project Chimp (a sort of burnt red color), I bought this not only because I love the color, but also because it benefits chimpanzees. I love the formula of this lipstick, it lasts long and it’s very pigmented. I also feel like the color is very easy to wear, unlike other red lipsticks that can be a little bit daunting to put on in the morning.
Sticking to the lipstick theme, I also got a make up for ever lipstick in midnight blue. I haven’t worn this one yet, but I loved the color and formula when I swatched it in Sephora and I’m really excited to try it.
My beauty blender has been looking a little bit worse for wear lately, so I decided to get a new one. I love beauty blenders and would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs a new makeup tool.
As always, I fell into the trap of tester products when I was waiting in line. I got two mini eyeshadow palettes; tartlette tease and smashbox full exposure. Both palettes have an excellent selection of neutral colors and great pigmentation.
I hope you enjoyed that little haul. Everything listed above can be found at Sephora.
